An Everlasting Love

Did you know there is nothing you can do to make God stop loving you? His love is everlasting.

That is what he is reminding the Israelites through the prophet Jeremiah in this verse. His love doesn’t end.

And the setting for this verse shows that perfectly. Jeremiah is warning the children of Israel that they are about to be carried away into captivity because of their sin – in particular their choice to worship other idols and forsake God.

If there was ever a time for God to stop loving them, this would be it. They had chosen other gods. They had rejected the One who had brought them out of Egypt, through the wilderness, and into a land of their own.

From a human perspective, this would be the time to move on and forget them. But God is not like us. He says he loves with an everlasting love and that he has faithfully drawn them back to Him.

Feel like you might be beyond God’s love? You are not! He loves you with an everlasting love and will continue to draw you to Him. Why not give in to His love today?

I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you.
